Uganda, Africa Irrigation Project

$50,000 of $55,000 raised for Uganda Irrigation Project

Problem: According to the Uganda meteorological report of January 2017, more than half of the country had been affected by an exceptional drought, the worst in history. Over 9 million Ugandans were in urgent need of food aid and because of this, families were skipping meals and others had completely nothing to eat and resorted to selling household assets and livestock to support food consumption. Schools had to close early because there was no food to feed the children. As the situation worsened, people lost their lives due to starvation. With irrigation, there will be food production rendering the community food secure.

Project: Two drip irrigation systems proposed to initially cover 2 acres each. These systems include a production well, pump and solar panels to power. Installation of drip irrigation with the potential to add irrigation arms for further coverage.
